Hundreds of alumni attend Homecoming 2009

Despite the rain and clouds, over 300 alumni returned to the Kean University campus for Homecoming 2009!  Events hosted throughout the week included a Student and Alumni Network Event for Management Science majors, a Greek Alumni Reunion, campus and family activities such as face painting and Cougar photos, an Alumni Post-Game Party, and an alumni Men's Lacrosse game.


And what a Homecoming game!  The Kean University Cougars triumphed over Morrisville State College with a final score of 43-6.  You can read more about the game by visit www.keanathletics.com.

Rain doesn't dampen alumni spirits at Summer Splash 2009

Bar Anticipation in Lake Como, N.J. was the setting June 13 for Summer Splash, where more than 100 alumni and friends gathered despite rainy skies for drinks, food and prizes.

Human Rights Recognized at the 12th Annual Kean University Gala

More than 800 guests honored their heritage and enjoyed a spectacular view of the New York City skyline during the 12th Annual Kean University Gala, which was held at Ellis Island on June 7. Proceeds from the Gala supported the Human Rights Institute at Kean University. Special guests and honorees at this year’s event included: human rights activist Paul Rusesabagina, whose actions were depicted in the film Hotel Rwanda; Pulitzer Prize winning New York Times columnist Nicholas D. Kristof; documentary filmmaker Thomas Lennon and the organization Physicians for Human Rights.

Maxine and Jack Lane Center for Academic Success Dedicated

Benefactors Maxine ’78 and Jack Lane were honored at a special dinner on May 18 for their leadership gift of $6 million to Kean University. To recognize their philanthropy, the Board of Trustees passed a resolution dedicating one of the newest buildings on campus, the Center for Academic Success (CAS), in their name.
