    Student Art Portfolios Shine

On Monday, May 12, over 25 senior design students gathered to display carefully crafted works of art for their senior portfolio review.

Hosted by the Design Department in Kean Hall, students presented a portfolio of work which they had collected throughout the year.  Projects ranged from targeted marketing brochures, to photography, to website design.

But designs were not only to be found on paper or computer screen.  Along with a booklet containing samples of their work, students also presented many samples in completed form.  Brochures were printed, marketing materials folded, boxes glued and websites finalized, culminating in a stunning visual display at each table.

Parents, friends, staff and faculty were invited to sit with each student and examine their work.  Throughout the day, students impressed and amazed their visitors with visual displays of astonishing color and depth, and interactive websites which changed visitors from viewers to participants.

“Their hard work and preparation definitely shines through,” said Assistant Director Michael Smullen, who attended the review.  “The Alumni Association will be proud to welcome them on graduation day.”

“[The students] received stellar reviews to bring to a close a banner year,” said professor Robin Landa, one of the professors attending the event.
